Every night at 9:00 PM EST each of the great races of Norrath will be represented by a Champion in the Arena.

Your Champion needs help! If supplied with powerful armor and weapons, he may defeat the competition.

You have all day to gear up your Champion.

Champions keep whatever you give them for 7 days, win or lose.

There is no prize for second place, just 1 winner and 15 losers.

If your Champion wins, your entire race will get a 30% experience gain boost for the next 24 hours!

There is also an Arena Quartermaster in PoK/Arena where the winners can buy rewards like Gold Tickets for the Shadow Haven Casino.

Once the fighting starts, your Champion is on his own.

Will they behave like pets where the only thing that matters is proc and HP, or does weapon ratio matter? Guess we finally have a use for all those extra Hammer of Hours in the bank

From what I have read on the eqemu forums, NPCs will use the weapon's delay if it is faster than their base delay but ignore weapon damage.

This seems to fit with anecdotal claims of mobs doing more damage when they spawn with certain weapons (discounting proc).

You would have to dig into the code and/or do some parsing to know for sure.
