At the final step of my berzerker epic, I gave the Lurking hopeful 1000 plat which spawned the Raving Goblinmaster.

I went to him and said "I am a Berserker"

I also tried "I am a Berserker and I am ready"

as well as a number of other approaches.

Finally in desperation I just handed him the "Medal of Mastery"

He ate that, and still will not respond...

So... it seems like I have to do this quest again to get another amulet, but just a fair warning to others...

If he doesn't do the script. Do not give him the amulet! Wait for him to despawn and try it again with the other Lurking hopeful.

I did the quest again.

This time it worked. I noticed that this time, the lurking hopeful despawned…. She did not despawn the first time.

The only thing that I did differently was to reapond to the bracket prompts in Keras’s last dialogue before the lurking hopeful turn-in.

So I guess completing those threads may have flagged my character somehow.

So for future reference… read the dialogue instead of blindly following a guide (which did not mention responding to these prompts).
