server reset

Post by DLNC1 »

I think the server needs a reset Poru. I know iv been on a 20 second delay since last night, i also lost a elemental plate leggings mold last night due to some crazy lag. ( im not worried about it, but it sucks to lose it to lag.)

I couldn't find anything that would cause such a drastic delay here, everything looks good on this end.

You can get a general feel for server latency on our website by clicking on the site title: "Casual Dreams."

It will expand and you can see the web-server to game-server ping, they're about 2,250 miles apart.

The average is usually around 25ms.

For perspective, there is about 40 feet of cable between me and the game-server right now and my ping is 20ms.

Most lag that players see is local to them but if it is a particular zone or situation giving you problems I can sort that out.

You can also do a

Code: Select all

tracert login.casualdreams.org
to find any problem routers between you and the game-server and notify their owners (some routers never respond to a trace).

Poru,

My trace looks good from my side, but I have to agree with others there has been some odd delays. Yesterday was really rough. I have restarted client a couple of time and that did help for a bit. But there are times that the delay to just selling at a merchant can take a minute or so just to sell one item.

I very rarely have any issues with lag and when I do it normally something on my side that I have changed that caused it.

I am in US / NC and this is what my trace looks like.

3 28 ms 31 ms 20 ms cpe-174-111-102-017.triad.res.rr.com [174.111.102.17]
4 38 ms 18 ms 13 ms 24.28.254.0
5 23 ms 21 ms 32 ms be34.drhmncev01r.southeast.rr.com [24.93.64.196]
6 26 ms 30 ms 22 ms bu-ether15.asbnva1611w-bcr00.tbone.rr.com [66.109.6.80]
7 25 ms 23 ms 38 ms 0.ae2.pr1.dca10.tbone.rr.com [107.14.17.204]
8 61 ms 139 ms 39 ms 10ge2-9.core1.ash1.he.net [216.66.41.237]
9 30 ms 34 ms 30 ms 100ge8-2.core1.atl1.he.net [184.105.213.69]
10 43 ms 44 ms 38 ms metronet.10gigabitethernet1-1-14.switch1.atl2.he.net [216.66.3.54]
11 * * * Request timed out.
12 38 ms 43 ms 39 ms 1339864-v3904-static.fklninaa.metronetinc.net [208.64.171.245]

Like I said looked fine just the sudden delay that you get even couple of minutes.

Thanks,

Toban

Alright, I will reboot that VM in the morning and check some more logs just in case.

Let me know how it goes tomorrow night.
