Discord is not an option, can't self-host. It's proprietary and not secure. I could set up mumble or tox.chat but I doubt it would get used. Most gamers seem to enjoy having "free" services like discord and gmail firmly lodged deep inside themselves. To each their own, but hard pass, thank...
